Fighting in the Church Yard

The Fight
This Sunday at Church I was lucky enough to see a red tailed hawk attacking a garter snake. It was really cool. Here is my favorite picture that I took.
The Aftermath
This is the aftermath, neither of them really won but I think the snake got the worst of it. Here are two pictures I took after the fight.
One of the hawk.
One of the snake.

Hi! Remember me? I am Benjamin Faust's mom.

I really liked your experience you shared on the blog. The pictures were exceptional. I don't think I have actually seen a fight like this.

I did see a hawk flying with a snake dangling from its talons one time. Another time a hawk landed near our house and had one of our hens cornered by the wall. Joe (Benjamin's dad) grabbed the broom and ran out and chased it off. Sort of funny.

The hen never recovered. Oh, she lived, but it made her so nervous that she never laid another egg!!

Please share more stories and pictures. You have good ones here.

Thanks for sharing,
Connie

That snake doesn't look so good afterwards. Good pictures!
