Cameras

Canon PowerShot SD1300IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Blue)
I am hoping you can help me! We are wanting a new camera and should get it soon, but I can't quite decide on what I want.
I don't want a big detailed camera that is more than I would understand.
I want one that takes great pictures of people and can also do nice scenery photos.
I want one that is sturdy.
It needs to have a long battery life.
For fun I would like one that takes short videos. That is pretty standard, it seems, though.
I want one that is all in one piece, currently mine isn't. It still works though.
That can take pictures in pretty quick succession.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Red)
What is important to you in a camera?
Do you have one you recommend?

Do, Please tell.

Terry and I before our trip got a new one and love it. We got the Nikon coolpix and it is perfect for the boom boom boom photo it doesn't have the long pause on most of the settings and there is an easy pic mode that decides what kind of photo it needs to make the best pic and it is usually right cause it takes gorgeous ones. The price is good too. It was around 130 dollars and takes reg AA batt so you are never without your camera. Which was so important to us.

I like my Casio Exilim that I have had for three years. I think you should get a camera that uses a special battery ( not AA) because they seem to last way longer than AA type batteries. Even when you buy the more expensive AA type batteries they only last a few days.
I like having the pocket size too, sometimes I wish I could get a better quality distance shot but other than that it is not a problem.
